A Well-groomed Watering Hole
The Groes Inn’s well-groomed bar is a relaxed affair, popular with locals and guests alike. As well as a changing roster of regional beers, you’ll find our own special blend of Groes Ale on tap alongside a tempting selection of fine wines and classic tipples.
The first licensed house in Wales (1573) and, more recently, awarded ‘Best Pub in Wales 2013-14’ by The AA, the bar is everything you’d like from a traditional Welsh watering hole: rustic and cosy in equal measures with a roaring fire and hearty menu. There are also tables outside for sun-blessed days. It’s a place where “old world” charm and character and modern attention to come together in a rather handsome way.
The bar plays host to pubby lunches and informal dining – the perfect solution for post-hike hunger! Food is served from 12noon until 9:00pm. Please note that we used to close the Inn on Sundays and Mondays but, due to popular demand, we are now OPEN ALL WEEK! Well-behaved hounds are welcome in some parts of the bar and in the gardens.
