The Groes Inn is one of the best places to be in the whole of North Wales, and our beautiful inn in Conwy is a destination in itself. We are proud to be the oldest licensed pub in Wales, we’re both historical and atmospheric, and we’re experiencing a very lively atmosphere thanks to visitors and locals alike taking advantage of the recent fine weather and visiting our country cosy inn in droves for good food, excellent ales, and the level of excellent laid back but very attentive service you can only get at the Groes Inn.
We’re delighted to mention that last week, our grape vine which is hosted in the conservatory (and with us so long, it’s practically part of the furniture!) burst into life to mark the start of the summer, and we couldn’t be more pleased. We’ve got a series of wonderful ways to take advantage of the Groes Inn this summer, and we’re more than pleased to share them with you.
Introducing Our New and Improved Beer Garden
Our Beer Garden has been brought into the 21 st century with superfast Wi-Fi, allowing you to share what’s important even as you soak up the sun with a pint. Our expansive beer garden is secluded and located to the back of the Groes Inn, offering stunning views of the Conwy Valley as well as plenty of room for everyone.
Our New Wine List
We’ve always been very proud of our wine list at the Groes Inn, but we feel that the Wine List we have for the summer of 2017 is our best yet. We’ve got a fantastic variety of white wines including light and refreshing chardonnays and sauvignons, a selection of roses which are absolutely perfect for summer, as well as some very classic reds, and of course all the bubbles you’d expect from our selections of champagnes and proseccos. Whatever your tastes, you can look forward to beautifully long afternoons in our beautiful garden with good company and excellent selections.
Excellent Food Taken Al Fresco
We take our food quite seriously at the Groes Inn, and we endeavour to source the freshest produce we can from the heart of the Conwy Valley as a first choice, and from the rest of Wales as a second choice.
Thanks to our extended opening hours of 12 noon till 9pm all day and every day, we can provide food throughout the day, including a number of pub favourites, sandwiches, and of course full meals which are more than a little bit special, carefully prepared by our expert chef. Take a look through our fresh, seasonal menus. Of major note are our Sunday Lunches – which is perfectly accompanied by our wine list.
we’re certain that nothing could be better than a fine day spent with all of the family, a selection of beers and cask ales in the beer garden. Just let us know if you’d like to eat, and we’ll be more than happy to bring you a menu.
