Booking Terms and Conditions
These conditions shall apply to all contracts for the sale of services in the form of accommodation by the Groes Inn (The hotel) or Groes Ltd. (the Company) to the Customer (You) to the exclusions of all other terms and conditions which the Customer may purport to apply under any letter of reservation or any other similar document.
All room reservations shall be deemed to be an offer by the Customer to purchase the services of the Hotel and shall be subject to these conditions. Reservation with provision of credit card number/deposit and/or use of the accommodation by the customer shall be deemed conclusive evidence of the Customer’s acceptance of these conditions. Any variation to these conditions (including any special terms and conditions agreed between the parties) shall be deemed conclusive evidence of the Customer’s acceptance of these conditions.
The Company will not be held responsible for the failure of any equipment, service or utility due to circumstances beyond our control. This includes hot tubs, steam shower, washing machines, kitchen equipment etc. High Cabin bookings are subject to permitting weather conditions.
Warranties and Liability
The Groes Inn warrants that the services of the accommodation will correspond to those set out in the brochure. The Company accepts no liability for loss or injury of any kind except where death and injury is caused by the negligence of the Company, its servants or agents.
Full contact details, a valid credit card number and/or deposit is required to secure all room bookings. All major credit cards are accepted and on occasion we may pre-authorize credit card payments.
i.e. those where no payment or credit card details have been given by the Customer shall be held by the Inn for a maximum of 7 days from the date of booking, after which time they may be cancelled without notice.
Cancellation for pre-booked accommodation must be made at least 1 week (7 days) before the date of arrival. Failure to do so will result in the Customer paying for the full cost of the booked accommodation. No-shows are charged at full rate. Travel insurance is readily available and recommended to prevent loss in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Photographic identification is required and will be recorded at check in for all of our off-site, self catering properties (High Cabin and Fourteen). The Company reserves the right to refuse admission should this identification not be available. Extra guests and visitors are not permitted unless by explicit prior arrangement.
Pets are permitted in some rooms and areas of the premises by prior arrangement. Pets in accommodation/off site properties without prior arrangement will incur extra charges. Guide Dogs are of course welcome.
The Inn Tariff may be subject to price fluctuations. A full list of current prices is always available at the Hotel.
Special breaks are subject to normal booking terms and conditions, are subject to availability and may be amended or cancelled without notice.
The Inn provides a service of securing a residents valuable items on request but places a limit of £1,000.00 on such articles.
Smoking is not permitted in Hotel bedrooms or in any public areas by law. A charge of £100 will be levied should any customer be found to have been smoking in a bedroom or off-site property.
Any damage to hotel property or equipment however caused, should be reported immediately to a member of staff. The Company reserves the right to make charges for damage, repair or cleaning as required without prior notice.
The hotel undertakes to be responsible for room cleaning however the Hotel reserves the right to levy extra charges should extra cleaning of rooms be required as a result of pets, dirty clothing or shoes, or negligent/neglectful guest activity.
Invalidity of any of the terms of this agreement shall in whole or point be held to any extent illegal or unenforceable under any enactment of rule of law, that term shall to that extent be deemed not to form part of this Agreement and the enforceability of the remainder of the Agreement shall not be affected.
Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect the Customer’s statutory rights.
Wedding/special event booking terms and conditions
(in addition to normal hotel booking terms)
1. A non-refundable deposit of £1000 is required on booking, with 50% of the remaining balance due four months prior to the event. The remainder of the balance is then due two months prior to the event date.
2. Please note that payments are non-refundable and non-transferable, wedding insurance is readily available and strongly advised to prevent loss in the event of any unforeseen circumstance.
3. A cash deposit of £2000 is required prior to the day of the event, which will be returned on the day following the event, subject to the conditions below.
4. Any damage, unpaid guest bills (bar or hotel) smoking in rooms, theft or other incurred costs will become the sole responsibility of the hirer if not paid by the guest responsible, and will be charged accordingly. (Not limited to deposit amount)
5. “Exclusive use” of the Inn is offered from 10am on the day of the event until 10am the following day (unless agreed otherwise), all decorations, flowers, furniture or any items brought onto the premises must be removed before 10am the following day, charges will be made for removal/loss of use/further room hire etc. in the event that the hotel premises are not fully cleared and available for normal use by this time.
6. Use of non degradable paper/foil confetti and/or rice is prohibited in all areas of the pub, hotel and gardens, natural flower petal confetti is however permitted in outside areas. A minimum charge of £100 will made to cover extra cleaning should prohibited types of confetti be used anywhere on the historic premises.
7. Special room rate offers are contingent on at least 10 rooms being booked for at least 2 nights, normal rates will apply if less than 10 rooms, two nights, are required.
8. Extra guests will be charged at quoted rates. Children/infants under 10 to a maximum of 10% of adults are free, more than this amount will be charged as adults.
9. Printed invitations/guest list will be required to gain access for guests joining during the evening, we reserve the right to refuse admission or service to any guest at our discretion.
10. Bar service/Inn opening times are subject to arrangement and remain at our discretion.
11. Extra persons/beds or overnight guests in any rooms will be charged at standard rates.
12. All quoted prices are correct at time of writing, we reserve the right to substitute/offer alternatives/re- quote if market conditions/tariffs change substantially.
13. We will not be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control, acts of god, loss of power/water, flooding or any event that affects our ability to provide the agreed services.
14. Invalidity of any of the terms of this agreement shall in whole or point be held to any extent illegal or unenforceable under any enactment of rule of law, that term shall to that extent be deemed not to form part of this Agreement and the enforceability of the remainder of the Agreement shall not be affected.
15. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect the Customer’s statutory rights.
