Historic Conwy Inn with Rooms and Traditional Pub Food
Welcome to The Groes Inn, the oldest licensed pub in Wales, offering traditional Welsh pub food, locally brewed cask ales, and cosy accommodation in Conwy. Nestled in the stunning landscape of North Wales, just minutes from Conwy Castle, our historic inn dates back to the 16th century, making us a truly unique place to eat, drink, and stay in Conwy.
Whether you’re stopping by for a hearty meal or planning a weekend break in a Conwy pub inn, you’ll find the perfect mix of comfort and charm. Our seasonal menus feature delicious dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, including our legendary Three Cheese & Onion Pie—a firm favourite for those seeking traditional pub grub in Conwy.
Warm up beside our crackling fire with a pint of JW Lees Bitter, or enjoy a relaxing meal in one of our many snug corners. With a selection of local ales, home-cooked meals, and en-suite rooms, we’re the ideal choice for anyone looking for a Conwy pub with rooms or accommodation with a pub in Conwy.
The Groes Inn is also dog-friendly, making it a great place to stay after exploring local walking routes near Snowdonia. So whether you’re after a cosy inn near Conwy Castle, a traditional inn with food and lodging, or simply a place to relax with your four-legged friend, we’re here to welcome you.
It’s Bloomin’ New
Pull up a chair with our new Spring menu in Conwy. Enjoy delicious seasonal dishes, made for warm days and cold pints with friends and family. Perfect for pairing with our Manchester-made beers, our new menu includes seasonal salads, new signature dishes, succulent grills and more. Not forgetting your pub favourites like our legendary cheese & onion pie, MPA battered cod fillet and the iconic Brewery tower burger.
If you’re planning a midweek catch-up, try our Prix Fixe set menu. Served all day from 12 noon Monday to Friday, enjoy two courses for only 17.45 or three for 19.95. Go on… treat yourself to a laid-back bite and a proper pint.
Sunday is a day of roast. Ours come with bottomless gravy and unlimited Yorkshire puddings (because one Yorkie is never enough and good gravy should never run out). Nothing beats a proper roast, and it’s even better without the bother of cooking and cleaning.
